Cole Martin was influenced by his Papa at an early age to become interested in music. As a music major at Piedmont College, Cole was very involved in many musical groups, including Chamber Singers, Chorale, Wind Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, and Cantabile–a ten voice group of a capella singers. He toured regularly with the Piedmont Chamber Singers, travelling throughout Florida, England, and Wales. Cole went on to receive a bachelor's degree in horn performance and the Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Music Education. Cole and his wife Rebecca currently reside in Dahlonega, Georgia, where he is an elementary music educator.
